Chief of Staff and Operations

Amy Gryskiewicz is the Chief of Staff and Operations at the World Justice Project. Amy joined the WJP in 2014 and currently oversees Human Resources, IT, Operations, and Administrative functions for the organization. Prior to this role Amy worked under the WJP’s research team as the Director of Criminal Justice Research, where she led WJP's thematic research on global criminal justice indicators and country-specific research in Afghanistan. During her time on the research team, she also managed the production of the annual WJP Rule of Law Index report and directed the data collection process for the Qualified Respondents Questionnaires (QRQ) in 126 countries and jurisdictions. Her interests include survey design and storytelling through data visualization.

Amy holds an M.A. in International Relations with concentrations in Security Studies and International Law from the University of Chicago, where she focused her research on transitional justice initiatives in post-conflict societies, comparative legal institutions, and the evolution and enforcement of human rights norms prohibiting torture. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in both Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and holds a certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to starting at WJP, Amy also completed a research internship at the United Nations' headquarters in New York City.
